Finding the right photographer for our wedding was a big decision and was the next thing on our list after booking our Venue we wanted to get right – after all, they’ll be the one capturing the memories we’ll treasure forever. We wanted someone who not only took beautiful photos but also made us feel comfortable and understood our vision for the day.
We went through a number of options and spoke to several photographers over Zoom. Then, we came across Cris who was not only one of the Handpicked suppliers of The Ashes Barns but also later found out also an acquaintance Of Rhy’s Best Man. From the moment we met him (virtually), we were struck by how charismatic and chatty he was. He didn’t just pitch us his services; instead, he really took the time to listen to what we wanted our day to feel like. He wasn’t someone who felt like he was just after our business – he genuinely wanted to be a part of making our wedding day special.
A lot of photographers we spoke to described their style as being more of a “fly on the wall,” keeping to the outskirts with their long lenses, almost hidden like a ghost. While that approach works for some, it just didn’t feel right for us. We didn’t want our guests feeling like they had to avoid the camera or be shy around it.
Cris, on the other hand, had a completely different vibe. He told us he loved to mingle with guests, blend into the celebration, and build a rapport with everyone. His goal was to make sure people felt at ease, and that’s exactly what we were looking for. We want our photos to capture real moments – the joy, the laughter, and the fun – without anyone feeling intimidated by the camera.
Needless to say, we booked him right away! We’re so excited to have Cris not just as our photographer but as someone who will be part of our big day, helping us create lasting memories with all of our loved ones.
